DOORWAYS, an interfaith non-profit organization, provides housing and related supportive services to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for people affected by HIV/AIDS.  Now in it’s 28th year of operation, DOORWAYS has grown from a single apartment building in 1988, to a multi-million dollar organization with six housing complexes located throughout the City of St. Louis, a residential care facility and numerous assistance programs to encourage those affected by HIV/AIDS to live courageously.

Cook’s Assistant

  • The primary purpose of this job position is to provide assistance in all food service functions as directed/instructed, in accordance with established food service policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, appearance or work areas, regular inspection of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.

Activities Coordinator

  • The primary purpose of this job position is to conduct the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the activity programs at Cooper House.
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must have aptitude for and some training in working with at-risk populations, preferably those with HIV/AIDS—1-3 years’ experience preferred.

Building and Grounds Specialist

  • The primary purpose of this job position is to assure that assigned work areas are kept clean, safe, comfortable, and in an attractive manner.
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a High School diploma or equivalent GED.

Residential Advocate

  • The primary purpose of this job position is to provide protective oversight to residents and act as an Administrative staff member.
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
  • Previous experience as an attendant or an employee in a health care setting preferred.

Comprehensive Flex Housing Program Director

  • A bachelor’s degree in social services, health care sciences, business administration or related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least three years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Understanding of issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental health, substance use, and poverty.

Employment Specialist

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in social work or related area
  • One-plus years’ experience in at least some of the following:  social services, mental illness, HIV and housing.
  • Experience or training with employment counseling or workforce development highly desired.

Custodian

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Experience with custodial work preferred.
  • Experience with basic building maintenance skills preferred.

Cooper House LPN

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing of licensed practical nursing.
  • A current Missouri LPN license and Valid driver’s license.
  • 1 to 2 years of IV experience and satisfactory completion of medical course and IV therapy course.
  • Experience in long – term care / care and or psychiatric nursing helpful, as is work with HIV/ AIDS.

Own Home Housing Resource Specialist (Special Posting)

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related area highly preferred.
  • More than one year of experience desired in at least some of the following: social services, mental illness, HIV, and housing.

Facilities Maintenance Technician

  • Completion of a high school education.
  • Two years working experience in facility maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
  • HVAC certification highly preferred.

Behavioral Health Therapist

  • A master’s degree in counseling or social work is required. Graduate degrees in similar fields will also be considered.
  • A LPC, LMHC, or LCSW credential is required.
  • Two years of leading individual and/or group counseling experience is preferred.
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • This position is highly independent. The Specialist must be comfortable working with individuals and groups on their own and without other support staff present.
  • Experience working with the HIV/AIDS, homeless, or LGBTQIA+ community is preferred.
