FAITH COMMUNITIES AND CIVIC GROUPS
DOORWAYS was established in 1988 by St. Louis area faith-based and community leaders. The commitment expressed through their initial efforts continues to drive the organization today.
Today, DOORWAYS’ Board of Directors still reserves space on the Board for representatives from the Episcopal Church, St. Louis Rabbinical Association, the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod and/or ELCA), The Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church and Black Clergy Coalition.
In addition, several DOORWAYS’ faith partners, local civic organizations and social groups have become members of the Keystone Society by forming a Keystone Community. Through Keystone Communities, communities or other groups demonstrate their commitment to people living with HIV/AIDS by making annual gifts or grants of $1,000 or more to DOORWAYS.
