DOORWAYS, an interfaith non-profit organization, provides housing and related supportive services to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for people affected by HIV/AIDS.  Now in it’s 28th year of operation, DOORWAYS has grown from a single apartment building in 1988, to a multi-million dollar organization with six housing complexes located throughout the City of St. Louis, a residential care facility and numerous assistance programs to encourage those affected by HIV/AIDS to live courageously.

CURRENT OPENINGS

Jumpstart Program Coordinator

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related area.
  • More than one year of experience in at least some of the following: social services, mental illness, HIV and housing.
  • Computer proficiency required, along with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Scout preferred.
  • Familiarity with the realm of services available to disadvantaged populations strongly preferred.

Cooper House Resident Advocate

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
  • Previous experience as an attendant or an employee in health care setting preferred.

Cooper House Cook – PT

  • Must be able to read, write write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing home operation.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are
    currently functioning.

Housing Resource Specialist – PT

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work or related area highly preferred.
  • More than one year of experience desire in at least some of the following: social services, mental illness, HIV and housing.

Cooper House Nursing Supervisor

  • A current Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and have graduated from an accredited school of nursing is preferred.  Highly trained/experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with a current LPN Missouri license will also be considered.
  • Two years of professional nursing experience in the long-term care setting is required, and a minimum of 1-2 years in nursing administration or a comparable management position.
  • Most possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.  Knowledge of long-term care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management, and census development is required.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
