DOORWAYS, an interfaith non-profit organization, provides housing and related supportive services to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for people affected by HIV/AIDS.  Now in it’s 28th year of operation, DOORWAYS has grown from a single apartment building in 1988, to a multi-million dollar organization with six housing complexes located throughout the City of St. Louis, a residential care facility and numerous assistance programs to encourage those affected by HIV/AIDS to live courageously.

CURRENT OPENINGS

Housing Resource Specialist

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work or related area highly preferred.
  • More than one year of experience desired in at least some of the following: social services, mental illness, HIV and housing.
  • Will do a large part of his/her work at a computer and must be able to spend extended periods of time typing and reading at a computer.
  • Must be detail orientated, organized and able to multi-task.  Time management is critical.

Cooper House LPN

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing for licensed practical nursing.
  • Must have a current Missouri LPN license and valid driver’s license.
  • Must have 1 to 2 years IV experience and satisfactory completion of medical course and IV therapy course.
  • Must have experience in long-term care and/or psychiatric nursing helpful, as is work with HIV/AIDS.

Residential Program Assistant

  • Two years of administrative/clerical experience working in a business office environment.
  • Two years of college or more is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, customer service, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple assignments at once with little supervision.
  • Desire to work with clients of various socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Understanding of issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse and poverty.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess a team mentality and be willing to embrace change.
