Mission & History

Since our founding as a hospice in 1988 to serve people dying alone and homeless, abandoned by families, DOORWAYS has evolved to offer six platforms of housing services and remains the only agency dedicated to HIV housing and supportive services.

Our Clients

HIV remains an epidemic among the poor and homeless. Invisible and ignored, our clients lack access to the resources needed to manage an HIV medical regimen. Learn more about them here!

The Jefferson Avenue Campus

With growing numbers of clients and expanding depth and breadth of need, DOORWAYS was out of space, unable to expand to meet urgent life-limiting challenges. The response: The first capital campaign in agency history to build a new campus offering housing with ONSITE services–removing access and navigation barriers!

Our People

Serving over 3,000 people a year takes a team of dedicated board members, leadership, staff, interns, and volunteers. Want to join us? Look at our job postings.

Transparency

This section provides behind-the-scenes information. Every year DOORWAYS issues an Impact Report highlighting accomplishments and agency advances. Our audited financial reports are also posted for your review, detailing expenses and revenues.
